They are just cheap white melamine cupboards and my husband added a simple wood trim prefab around all the edges to give them a bit of texture before painting.
Painting kitchen cupboard doors with chalk paint.
Leave to dry before painting a second coat of chalk paint.
Paint the cupboards in your chosen chalk paint.
Once dry wax the doors using clear chalk paint wax and a chalk paint wax brush.
If you have a cabinet with that has a relief pattern or that has grooves this is a really easy look to copy.
Use an annie sloan flat brush for a smooth finish.
Here annie is using old ochre.
We painted our kitchen cupboards with a grey chalk paint from annie sloan about 4 years ago.
Remove any excess with a lint free cloth.
Leave the wax to harden.
Repair these first with wood glue before sanding the veneered surface.
If your cabinets have a wood veneer essentially a very thin layer of real hardwood over a pressed material you will also need to sand before painting your kitchen cabinets but before you break out the sandpaper or paint carefully inspect the veneer for loose edges chips or cracks.
How gorgeous is this idea.
